Is it just me or do weekends seem to get shorter and shorter? We have had a great weekend! I am just sad it is over. Gene was off this weekend which automatically makes it great! Friday afternoon Gene and I played tennis (another attempt to be athletic) while the boys ran around the court. Then we picked up Morgan and went to the park to play after a run to McDonalds for sweet tea. (Tyanne-you aren't the only one addicted to sweet tea!) Saturday, Peyton had a soccer game. He didn't score but did kick in a ball that went through the opponents, to the other end of the field, and one of his teammates scored! He also blocked two goals while playing goalie! He doesn't understand the concept of taking the ball from the other kids. We teach kids to share and then tell them to steal the ball. Talk about confusing!
After the game, Nana and Aunt Melanie took the kids so Gene and I could go to a wedding in Yazoo City. We got very lost! Who knew you had to specify with mapquest old Hwy 16 and new Hwy 16! It was fun just to be together in a quiet car with nobody trying to kill each other in the backseat!
This morning we went to church which is always awesome! After church, Gene took Trevor to baseball practice. He finally caught a pop-up! I'm proud of you buddy! I knew you could do it! Nana kept Peyton and Morgan while Aunt Melanie and I went to the movies in Madison with Erin and Holly. We saw Night in Rodanthe. It was really good. Bring your tissues though! It was great to watch a chick flic and catch up with friends! Can't wait for the chance to do it again!
I definitely don't want to go back to work after a great weekend like this! Have a great week!
A last minute tickle session before bed!
Showing off those muscles while little bro squalls in the background for no apparent reason! Somebody skipped naptime!

Tag - I'm it!
So, I have been tagged by Tyanne to write six random things about myself. I have spent a couple of days trying to think of random things about myself and trying to find the time to actually post them. It's not an easy task when there is little quiet time in which to reflect. It's also not easy when little fingers try to snag my mouse while I type as they are doing now. I 'm not sure how random or interesting these six things are but here goes...
1. I love to read! I read constantly. Books, magazines, cereal boxes, you name it. It bugs Gene that I can read and block out other things such as the TV and screaming kids. Some of my favorite authors are Patricia Cornwell (forensic science), Danielle Steele (romance), and Beverly Lewis (Christian). What a combo! Books can take you places you would never be able to go otherwise. Gee I sound like a teacher or something!
2. Gene and I are huge Harry Potter fans. I know that sort of goes back to the book thing. Oh well! We have both read all seven books and seen all five movies. When book seven, the last of the series, came out - Gene went to Wal-Mart at midnight to buy two copies. Yes, two! We both had to have our own copies because neither of us would let the other read it first! When movie five came out, we took my parents to the 10 pm show opening night. Now - we anxiously await movie six in a couple of months!
3. I only eat one green food and that is green beans. I have slowly begun to enjoy vegetables as I have gotten older along with a few other foods I used to dispise. However, green stuff is still not on the menu!
4. I am easily grossed out. This is not always easy when your husband is a nurse and likes to tell stories about work. It's not just the really nasty things that give me the he-be-ge-bees. (I am an inventive speller too!) Random, everyday thing do it too. For example, have you ever noticed that when you cook easy-mac in the microwave all of the noodles stand up on end like a pack of straws? That makes me want to gag! I know it sounds ridiculous but I have chills just thinking about it!
5. I love sports but stink at everyone I have ever tried. I played on the school softball team last year. What a hoot! I bat well but cannot catch or throw. The sad thing is I was one of the best on the team! I even stink at sports on the playstation. Trevor beat me at NCAA baseball 23-0!
6. I love to travel. I especially love going places I have never been. Gene and I have set a goal to see all fifty states together before we die. Thankfully my job has allowed us to go a few neat places already! Our most recent was Las Vegas, Nevada. My dream trip is to go on an African safari and photograph the wildlife. I guess I better start saving my pennies!
As you can see, I am a pretty boring person. If you stayed awake long enough to make it to the end of this post, I am tagging Amanda and Sara. If you have already been tagged I apologize! I don't know that many people with blogs!
Rules We Can't Ignore...
1. Link to the person who tagged you.
2. Post the rules to your blog.
3. Write six random things about yourself.
4. Tag two people at the end of your post and link to them.
5. Let each person you have tagged know by leaving a comment on their blog.
6. Let the tagger know when your entry is posted.

How we have fun!
This is my first go at adding video. I hope it works! First, you have to scroll all the way to the bottom and pause the song on the playlist. Otherwise the video and music play at the same time. I thought you might enjoy getting to see how much fun we have everyday. As you can see, there is never a dull moment at the Rouse House!
Our little princess loves to sing! I don't know where she got this version of "Jesus Loves Me" but I thought it was adorable! I have reloaded this video several times and it refuses to cooperate. Sorry! It's still precious! Even if you do have to cock your head to the left!
My friend Wendy's teenage daughters, Christine and Paige, entertained the boys after school so we could get some work done. Who knew boxes could be so much fun!
Here is a highlight of our little soccer star! He is the one playing with the corner flag before he kicks in. Gotta love those "love bugs" swarming!

Girls Rule!
Tonight we went to "game night" hosted by Jennifer and Samuel Bennett here at our apartment complex's clubhouse. We had a fabulous time! We played Cranium and Taboo, two of my favorites. We played boys vs girls and the girls kicked tail on both games! Sorry I don't have any pictures! My camera went to Nana's in the diaper bag.
It was great to catch up with old friends and make new ones. We often get so busy in the daily hustle and bustle of our lives, that we loose touch with friends. There is nothing that we would rather do than be with our children. Sometimes, though, it is nice to be with grown-ups too! Thanks for inviting us! We look forward to next time when the girls continue to dominate!

The boys wanted Aunt Melanie to make pictures of them by themselves too. Here are their "Super Star" shots! Enjoy!

Shining Stars
Bet you didn't know my kids are world famous!

Okay...maybe not. Thanks to Aunt Melanie it atleast looks like they are! Normally I would not paste Paris Hilton's face on my family blog but I had to share! Wow! Morgan has changed a lot! Thanks Aunt Melanie!

New Touch
As I am sure you noticed when you opened this blog, I have added a new feature. As blog illiterate as I am, I figured out how to add music to my blog! (If you don't hear it please pretend you do so as to not burst my bubble!) I hope you enjoy the music I selected. They are powerful songs that I hope will bless you as much as they bless me.

Feels Like Fall
My two favorite times of year are fall and spring. Not the hot parts. The days when you can be comfortable in jeans or shorts. Windows can be left open and curtains blow in the breeze. Days when you actually want to be outside doing something. Anything - as long as it involves being outdoors! The past couple of days have been heaven sent.
The kids and I took advantage of the "fall like" weather with a trip to the new park on Porter's Chapel Road. I thought I would snap some pictures of the three of them together. Three kids, one photo....
I did manage to catch a few cute pics too!

My two little heartbreakers!

Mommy, look what Daddy and I can do that the rest of you can't!

Is it on straight?
Morgan loves to put on make-up. Usually she does so with Mommy's help! However, when Mommy is not looking.... Yes, that is lipstick and not chocolate! She was so proud! We let her wear it to the outlet mall. Thankfully, we ate lunch before we shopped so it rubbed off.

Grandparent's Day
Since Morgan did not get to come to Grandparent's Day, I am adding a picture I took of her the other day while she was cooking in her Dora the Explorer kitchen.

Beginnings
Growing up I tried to keep a journal many times. I only seemed to keep it up for a week or so and then lost interest. It's funny to go back and read those old entries. Each new attempt at journaling starts with the line "I'm really going to do it this time." Well...I'm really going to do it this time!
