Highlights

The even years seem to be our best as a family and 2010 was no different. To prove my point, a brief time line:

2000 - Gene and I got married
2002 - Trevor was born
2004 - Peyton was born
2006 - Morgan was born
2008 - We sold our trailer and moved to the apartments
2010...
*Gene began a new job at Fresinuis Medical (a dialysis clinic) in Delta, La. He no longer takes call on nights or weekends! To make things even better, he only works Monday, Wednesday, and Friday! However, he does work 2:30am - 5:30pm. Needless to say, he deserves those off days. Although he spends most Tuesdays and Thursdays at River Region working.
* Trevor began third grade, shot his first deer (a seven point with a 17 inch spread), began playing with a new baseball team full of his friends, tried football but broke his arm in the first game and missed the rest of the season, continues to make straight A's; and most importantly, gave his heart to Christ on December 29th. He was baptized last Sunday!
*Peyton began first grade, tried hunting but didn't like sitting still and quiet, played baseball in the spring, played real soccer for the first time in the fall and loved it, and has made All A's on both report cards this year!
*Morgan began Pre-K at Sherman Avenue (which she loves), had a successful surgery to repair her bladder reflux, played soccer for the first time, and can't wait to hunt, play softball, and take gymnastics!
*Me - As if that was not enough, I've been quiet busy myself! In March, we moved into a house in Bovina. In April, I surrendered to the call to Children's Ministry. I am currently working as part time Children's Minister at our church! In August I began my first year as a kindergarten teacher! I absolutely love it!!!
Our little world is quiet busy all the time! My house is a disaster. If you come to my door, you may not be let in. If you are, you've been warned. This is how we roll. We love to spend time with each other and realize that the housework will be here long after the kids are grown and gone.
So that's the highlights of 2010. I can't wait to see what 2011 brings!

Happy New Year

Yes... we do still exist! I don't know if anybody even bothers to check this anymore! I've been able to keep up with everyone on my phone, but haven't figured out how to post from it yet! Hopefully we can get internet soon! With our busy schedules I can't promise I'll post often but hopefully it will be sooner that a year from now!

What an amazing year we had in 2010. From moving to a new house, to Gene's new job, to the kids' activities and sports, to teaching kindergarten, to answering the call to children's ministry, to Trevor accepting Jesus as his savior two weeks ago! I can't see how 2011 can be any better but I am sure excited about what the new year may bring!

So much happened in December! Christmas programs at schools, programs at church, parties, Santa, and going to a Saints game! I thought it would be easier to just show you rather than tell you about it!

oh so random

Is it really December already? I have no idea where November went! I have been so crazy busy that I haven't had time to read any blogs at all! Update my own? HA! I wish I could say the next update will be soon, but if you hold your breathe until then...you might be in trouble!

My kids had a great Halloween! Unbelievably, I got them to dress up as a theme! Dorothy and Tin man were borrowed from people my sister babysits for. The scarecrow was an original. Gene still hasn't noticed that the head piece use to be one of his t-shirts. A group from church (about 30 people!) came over and we trick-or-treated the neighborhood on trailers! It was so fun!

We had a great fall festival at church, Trevor's team finished third in the fall state tournament (and is done until the spring), we had a fantastic Thanksgiving with family, and all enjoyed the wonderful fall weather!

As if my life wasn't crazy enough...I now have a fourth child! Her name is Kaya and she is a five month old boxer. We got her October 30th as an early Christmas present for the kids. She is the sweetest dog ever but her house training leaves something to be desired! It is honestly like having another child! Morgan was terrified of her for about a week but then decided she loves her and we practically have to beat her off the dog. It's so sweet! All the trouble is almost worth it when I see how happy the kids are!
