Oh how they've grown

Since I am not able to post new pics right now, I decided to pull some from a couple of years ago. I can't believe how quickly the time has flown by. It seems like only yesterday that we were brand new parents, who knew nothing about having a newborn, bringing home Trevor. Two years later we were a little more baby wise, but clueless as to how to handle a newborn and a toddler as we brought home Peyton. Just when we got the hang of that, SURPRISE, a baby girl. By this time we new how to handle newborns and toddlers, but what do you do when there is one more baby than there are parents? I can't say that we have mastered that one yet, but we do the best we can. Looking at these pictures makes me sad that we are done with the baby stage in our lives. There are so many things I miss. However, we have entered a new stage. One that is new, exciting, and keeps us running as our kids discover new things that are beginning to shape the people they will one day become. All this came about as I watched my kids recently in the rear view mirror in awe of how much has changed. Trevor was reading a real book to his brother and sister, Peyton was practicing writing his numbers, and Morgan was singing to herself and having her doll kiss batman. The past six years have been so incredible, I can't wait to see what the next six will bring.

When it rains, it pours!

Thankfully this week has come to and end! Peyton is 100% better and went to school yesterday. He was very excited to see his friends but even more excited to finally get to eat ice cream! He was also happy to be able to attend his teddy bear picnic with his class.

Morgan's mystery illness continues. Gene took her back to the doctor yesterday and we finally got to see Dr. Fairchild. She said she thinks it is something viral and that there is nothing we can do but wait it out. She kind of mentioned something about Mono but says it doesn't show up in kids tested this young anyway. Thankfully, the hives have gone but the fever, sleeplessness, and crankiness remain. I think we are going on five nights now with very little sleep. I called again today because her fever was back up to 102. The doctor is thinking more and more that it is Mono. At this age? Who has she been kissing? Anyway, we should get sleep tonight thanks to a perscription of Tylenol with Codeine (sp?). If she is not better my Monday we have to go back.

Bet you thought, lucky Trevor, he has escaped untouched. Nope! As I was on my way to pick Morgan up today at lunch, I was called back to the school to get Trevor. He and another child ran into each other at recess and he has an enormous knot on his forehead. I had to take him to the doctor to get it looked at. The other child was fine but Trevor looks like something out of a cartoon! She said he should be okay and that we should keep an eye on him tonight. Tomorrow he will have a killer headache and a black eye!

When it rains, it pours at the Rouse house! We have been to the doctor four times in one week! I think we will try to stay locked in the house all weekend while Gene works. Hopefully my camera will be fixed soon! I'm dying without it! Have a great weekend!

Poor Baby

We Rouses can never seem to do things by the text book. I took poor Morgan to the doctor this morning because she still had a rash that goes away with Benadryl but returns before it wears off. She was also awake all night acting like she had a UTI. Plus she was running a fever. We had to see Dr. Weiland because Dr. Fairchild is out. Of course we had no fever while there. Dr. Weiland ran a strep test (negative) and a UTI test (negative). The rash turned out to be hives. Basically she did not know what has caused the symptoms other than possibly something she came in contact with or ate. She worried that maybe she was getting what Peyton has but we don't think so. Now here it is 9:00 at night and my poor baby is covered in hives again and running a fever. Guess we will be back to the doctor's office in the morning! Please pray for my little angel and her worn out parents. Thanks for the prayers for Peyton. He is much better! He finally has an appetite!

Also, please pray for a couple that is friends with Gene. They are going through a very serious, tough time right now and need many prayers. Please pray for their two young daughters too.

2nd-Not too Shabby!

We lost the championship game yesterday to the Gulf Coast Storm. The boys were disappointed but excited to still get trophies! Second place at a state tournament is great! It also qualified us to play in a World Series next summer! I took pictures but my camera broke today. I'm trying to convince my husband that I need a new one but so far I'm getting no where! Keep your fingers crossed for me!

We had a great weekend, but just in time to go back to school, we have two sick kids. They don't act sick but then again, my kids are like machines that can run high fevers and never slow down. Poor Peyton has Salmonella. We don't think it is something he ate but maybe something he touched or petted. He is definitely a boy. The grosser the better! Thankfully he has not gotten dehydrated. He can't go back to school until he stops going to the bathroom constantly. Morgan has a strange rash. We are suppose to wait and see how she looks tomorrow before we go in to get tested for strep. It could be something she ate or came in contact with. My wonderful husband kept them both today! He also cleaned up and cooked supper! What a sweetie! I would be lost without him! Thanks honey! I love you!
